Yoga Retreat at White Point: July 3 – 5, 2020
Yoga Retreat at White Point: July 3 – 5, 2020
From $559 per person

A common misconception about yoga is that it is mainly a physical experience of self-improvement, however, yoga is in the deepest sense only 1 % what is happening on the outside and 99% what’s happening on the inside. Throughout your time at this retreat, you will be empowered to be your own guide, encouraging you to allow this time to feel the importance of yourself, as you are present with no expectations or perceived limitations.

Set in nature, and using the healing powers of the ocean, we invite you to explore your practice on a deeper more meaningful level, allowing you to discover a holistic way to heal yourself from negative emotions from the inside out. Practicing compassion for yourself and self-acceptance for where you are at present in a nonjudgmental and healing environment. There is no objective here except to fully experience your own life and each moment completely, free from distraction, and allowing your innate love to flow through you and unto others. Because all that truly matters is the relationship you have with the world you carry around inside of you.

You are enough and you should feel the importance of yourself, curl the corners of your lips and smile!

Yoga Class Descriptions:

Mindfulness Through Yin Yoga: In yoga, it is essential to practice both the yin, for flexibility, and the yang, for building strength to balance our bodies and minds. Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative and passive version of yoga where poses are held for a longer period of time in a relaxed position to target the connective tissues. The practice of Yin Yoga improves your mobility and range of motion as well as improving the flow of energy through the body yielding profound benefits for the health of our organs, immune function, and emotional well-being.  This will be a  quiet, contemplative practice incorporating poses with guided meditations releasing tension in our bodies as well as calming our “mind chatter” to become more present.

Gentle Yoga: Take it slow with this gentle but deep mix of Hatha Yoga, restorative and alignment yoga. It is great for people who want to have a slower-moving class that focuses on using the breath to reveal body awareness, inner strength, opening, and stress relief. Everyone is welcome and modifications are offered to guide you to practice at your own individual level.

Flow to Yin (Flow it Down): Yin and flow is a blend of both a gentler Flow and Yin styles of yoga. By combining yang yoga, necessary for building strength, with yin for flexibility you can experience all the benefits of both styles to advance and deepen your practice. In this class, you will find the perfect balance between strengthening your body and calming your mind.

Vinyasa Flow: A faster-paced style of yoga where we use a mix of breath and movement together to bring you to the present moment. Flowing through strengthening yoga postures while using the breath for focus, finding a sense of stillness in the movements and encouraging you to listen to your own body and honor where you are at present. This class is aimed to the yoga practitioners who are more comfortable in their practice.

Yoga Nidra: The practice of Yoga Nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning “yogic sleep”, is a guided meditation that encourages full-body relaxation and a deep meditative state of consciousness. Yoga Nidra refers to the conscious awareness of the state between sleeping and waking. You will relax for the duration of the class in Shavasana while guided through a technique known as a “sleep that awakens pure being”. Deceptively simple, Yoga Nidra induces a sense of bliss, profound joy, peacefulness and well-being. In time, with practice, Yoga Nidra will reward you with the ability to drop into a state of deep calm abiding with ease.

Downward Dog and Upward Sips: A laid back and fun slow flow class ending with a Yin practice while enjoying sips of your favorite evening beverage!

Evening Sips and Stretch: A relaxed evening practice to calm the body and mind while stretching away tension and enjoying sips of your favorite evening beverage!

Full Moon Ceremony: The moon is a powerful force —pulling on the ocean’s tides and creating a rhythm for life on the earth as it does in our bodies and minds. According to Ayurveda, the full moon is a powerful healing force and represents the completion of the life cycle symbolizing the end of a chapter and aligning us with a flow of energy to let go of the things that no longer serve us. It is a time to celebrate your individual growth and to reflect on your progress. A moon ritual is a way to reconnect with this life force and to the rhythms and energy that we all share.

Learn more about our workshop leaders:

Hailey Croft, Registered Health Coach
Hailey first discovered her passion for helping others achieve overall wellness and balance in their lives over a decade ago. First, she fell in love with optimizing her own health through nutrition and then decided she wanted to help others do the same. Now, a Registered Health Coach that specializes in Holistic Nutrition, Hailey likes to focus specifically on the connection between body and mind. Her goal is to educate, support and empower people to achieve optimal health through a wellness plan that fits their unique lifestyle.

Eating Intuitively – Session Information
Hailey’s session will focus on eating intuitively vs. eating with intention. How we can change our minds and bodies through what we eat and why health is about more than just what goes on our plate.

Kate Wong, The Mala Mama
Growing up Kate always had an interest in anything spiritual. It wasn’t until she became a stay at home mom that she was able to pursue her passions further. Her first mala was given to her during a very hard time in her life, and she knew then that she wanted to help others the way her gemstones had helped her.

Mala Bead Workshop – Session Information
Gemstones have been used for centuries in balancing the energy in our bodies. Too much, or too little, wreak havoc on our well-being. Wearing gemstones is thought to balance our physical, mental and spiritual energy. In this class, we will explore the 7 chakras and will each create a beautiful bracelet, learning the deeper spiritual meanings of the gemstones that go into it. We will also learn about the importance of cleansing and “charging” your bracelet. All materials will be provided.

Vanessa Meisner, Certified Yoga Instructor
Vanessa began her yoga journey over 10 years ago while recovering from an injury and seeking comfort from chronic pain. She quickly fell in love with the practice after noticing how the postures could heal her body and calm her mind. She later attained her 200-hour Yoga Certification from the Amana Institute in Saint John, NB and shortly thereafter welcomed her son Jack into the world. Vanessa has since seen her personal practice grow from a focus on healing and building strength to a more mindful practice deeply rooted in Yin, alignment, body awareness and silencing the mind. Her classes are inclusive and mindful and promote self-acceptance over self-improvement. Her intention is to empower her students to be their own guides and to feel their practice in a more meaningful and intuitive way.

Ashley Ward, Certified Yoga Instructor
Ashley is a Certified Yoga Teacher with 200-hours under Blacksmith Yoga Community and yoga & spiritual exploration teacher of 300-hours, certified under Golden Buddha Yoga. Her classes always consist of a unique sequence, theme, and playlist that allows her students to fully connect and surrender.

Melissa Belkin, Certified Yoga Instructor
Melissa is a certified 200-hour Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance.
