Stellar Beach Feast, Sept. 10
Sunday, September 10th

As the sun begins to set over the Atlantic Ocean, follow the symphony of surf to her shoreline to embark on a savoury evening feast of the senses well into the night. Nova Scotia is Canada’s Ocean Playground, at her lowest tide, the Atlantic offers a stunning stretch of white sand, a truly unique setting paired with a 4 course Taste of Nova Scotia infused dining experience.

Under the cloak of darkness, follow Executive Chef Alan Crosby, Sommelier Dan Tanner and Dark Sky Interpreter Paul Lalonde into the dark, as they guide you on a culinary journey into the night sky, surfside to the stars and back.

For starters…let’s get to know each other…
(Please note: Sample Menu described, seasonally influenced Menu to be revealed 1 month prior to Feast Dates)

Come gather ‘round the bonfire – the original social network – to learn about the constellations in a most illuminating manner. We’ll get started with Sundown Mussels: Steamed over the open fire with chipotle, smoked tomato and cream, let’s give a toast to the evening with Benjamin Bridge Nova 7.

Following the boardwalk to the beach, your seat at the dinner table awaits. Join Chef Alan Crosby as he prepares your next two courses, alongside your table on the beach, paired and served with selections made by our Sommelier Dan Tanner.

From the sea, your second course features Twilight Lobster on Toast: House-baked star brioche, Shelburne County lobster, double smoked bacon, cream and cognac paired with Blomidon Reserve Chardonnay

As sunset kisses the surf, it’s time for “Darkness” Braised Shortribs: Braised for 6 hours in Boxing Rock’s “The Darkness” dark ale, roasted chilies and cocoa, parsnip mash and vegetables. Paired with Luckett Vineyards Black Cab

As darkness falls, it’s time for a beach stroll into the night sky. A decadent sea-salty dark chocolate dessert awaits at the far end of the beach, the stars will light your way. With Paul Lalonde as your guide, strolling down the 1km beach you’ll explore the constellations, moon and our shoreline. With ‘night vision’ settling in, you’ll be delighted by what you’ll ‘sea’ as all your senses come alive and your mind soars with the ancient tales of the stars, including the Mi’kmaw and other cultures. Our beach at night is a magical and timeless place to discover.

It’s the perfect evening for a night cap, follow Paul as he leads you to our secret location for a Blind Wine Tasting with Sommelier Dan Tanner. With blindfolds donned, Dan will tease your palate through five of Nova Scotia’s Vineyards. One at a time, you’ll sip and savour his star-studded selection, being rewarded with a greater awareness and appreciation of the evolving and distinct Tastes of Nova Scotia.

Star struck, White Point’s Stellar Beach Feast concludes with a meandering stroll back to the Main Lodge guided by the constellations!

Weather Policy
We have taken great strides to plan our Stellar Beach Feasts around Mother Nature. Taking into consideration low tide, the moon cycles and night sky viewing, however, Mother Nature ultimately has the final say. We will monitor the weather forecast in the days leading up to the pre-scheduled Feast dates and will keep in touch with registered guests, making the final call at least 24 hours prior to the event. In the event that our scheduled date is cancelled due to rain or forecasted weather that is unconducive to dining on the beach and enjoying a night hike, we will cancel the Feast and extend a full refund to guests.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the uniqueness of this experience, guests needing to cancel their reservation for the Stellar Beach Feast will need to do so at least 10 days prior to their reservation to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within less than 10 days will be subject to the full cost of the event. Please note that group bookings of more than 2 people may be subject to additional fees. Cancellations must be made by contacting White Point Beach Resort by phone at 800.565.5068 ext 1.
