Surf’s Up! It’s Surf-abration here at White Point on World Oceans Day – ‘WOW’!
Take it all in, BOOK ONLINE and stay overnight or just come for the day.
We’re proud to offer surfing here at White Point, and while our boards and wetsuits and Rossignol Surf Shop is open May – October, our surfers enjoy the Atlantic Ocean year-round. June 8th we’ll celebrate the ocean and the fun boarders enjoy on her.
Everyone is welcome – come visit, watch – and maybe even try – your hand at surfing.
Bring the kids – we’d love to see families, teens, and adults out for the day.
We are building an afternoon/evening filled with a tribute to all things surfing here in the UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve! What’s it like to surf White Point Beach? Check this new video out!
Make plans to spend the afternoon meeting and experiencing the ocean today.
We’ve got a great agenda coming together, kicking off around 3pm and continuing until about 8:30pm.
Spend the afternoon in & on the Atlantic Ocean!
~ Special guest, local Valley boy and Professional Nova Scotia Surfer, Logan Landry (read recent CBC article) will be on hand to demonstrate and chat about what it’s like to be from Nova Scotia and travel the world competing!
~ Surf Association of Nova Scotia will be onsite and invite you to suit up and hit the waves with their instructors. And yes, getting into a wetsuit IS a sport! Sessions will be complimentary and meant to give you a taste of what it’s like to ride.
~ Meet Kite Boarder Andrew Hatfield from Yarmouth and learn about Kite Boarding, the equipment and how to get in on this new way to ride the ocean. With fingers crossed, we hope to have favourable winds so he can give us a demonstration too!
By evening, join us from 7 – 8:30/9pm for a Meet, Greet & Chat with a variety of guests!
In addition to those above, we’ll add:
~ Colin Machaffie, local photographer who captures some amazing shots of local surfers, year -round
~ Check out the works by our neighbour Surf Board Air-Brush artist Andrew Burgess
~ Meet adventurous surfers who surf here year-round!
BUT get ready to hit the waves yourself!
Make plans to come out for the afternoon and ‘try’ surfing for yourself, so you can truly appreciate what it takes to be a wave dancer!
Everyone is welcome to attend the afternoon and evening – it’s kinda like an Open House for the Atlantic Ocean!
We do ask that you RSVP so we know to expect you, email email@example.com
