Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please get in touch and we would be happy to help.

Due to tides, uneven surfaces and related safety concerns, we are not able to host wedding ceremonies on the sand beach itself. However, we can host your ceremony on the lawn in front of the Ocean Lodge, with the Atlantic Ocean as your backdrop!

Our outdoor wedding ceremony fee is $6500.00 plus 15% HST, and is available to couples hosting their reception on site. This includes an oceanside ceremony and rain location, setting up and dismantling of chairs with a centre aisle, a sound system with a corded microphone, and a technician to play your music (via a playlist on a device with a standard headphone jack).

We have additional lawn space beside the lake, adjacent to Lakeside Hall – and for smaller weddings, there is the option to use Crow’s Nest, or even inside your accommodation. In the event of inclement weather, your reception space, (or a portion of it) can be used for your ceremony. We will set the room for a ceremony, and reset for dinner while you’re getting pictures done.

We can provide contact information for local ministers and Justices of the Peace. However, these are very personal arrangements that should be made directly by the engaged couple.

With more than 7,200 square feet of meeting and indoor event space, we are able to offer you a variety of locations to host your reception at White Point Beach Resort. From our spectacular Atlantic Room or Lakeside Hall, our banquet space can accommodate everything from an intimate gathering to a full, sit-down dinner for 180.

Your reception can be held in the Atlantic Room or Lakeside Hall. Venue rental varies by season. Please ask your coordinator for more detail as seasonal minimums may apply.

White Point is not able to provide decorating services for your event, but we’re happy to provide you with contact information for decorators in our region.

Due to fire regulations, we do not allow the following: taper candles and/or taper style slim candlesticks, candelabra (free standing or tabletop), or any kind of candle on window sills. All decorations must be authorized for use by a member of our Event Services Team and we reserve the right to refuse use of any decorations that have a potential to cause property damage or fire/health risk.

Sit-down plated dinners or buffets can be accommodated with a variety of menu choices. We also offer an extensive hors d’oeuvres menu should you prefer a stand up reception. Please note however, all food and beverage must be catered by White Point Beach Resort. The only exception would be your wedding cake, which we know you will have likely picked out from your favourite bakery.

We recognize that little ones are an important part of the day. Please refer to the “Kids’ Stuff” page in our menu, with entrees such as chicken fingers and fries, hamburgers, that will tempt their taste buds. We’ll work with you to choose one selection to be offered for your young guests!

All of White Point’s banquet spaces are licensed areas, therefore you would not be able to supply your own alcohol for an event.

The bar can stay open until 12:00am.

You may certainly enjoy our bonfire area during your event, but remind you that all outdoor activities must be wrapped up by 11:00pm. Any group activities must be planned with your White Point contact’s knowledge and maintained within the designated spaces.

Your guests are invited to stay with us at White Point Beach Resort. We have a two-night minimum booking policy for accommodations and suggest putting in a “room block” as soon as possible to ensure availability.

A non-refundable deposit of $2,500 is required to confirm your date. A second deposit will be required 12-6 months in advance of your wedding, depending on the date of booking and season. The full projected balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding date. These amounts will be credited to your final bill. Any remaining balance will be due upon check out from the resort.

Yes, White Point requires a minimum food purchase of $58 per person, prior to taxes and taxable service charge. For all bars, there is a minimum sales requirement of $1000 prior to taxes and taxable service charge, per location. Set-up, labour, and room rental fees will not apply if these minimums are met.

SOCAN and Re:Sound Licensing Fees:
Two organizations in Canada levy fees for all events in which music or entertainment are employed. Both organizations are governed by the Copyright Board of Canada and White Point is bound to collect these fees and remit them quarterly. Fees for both, plus applicable taxes, will be automatically applied to your invoice.

Absolutely! We are happy to help host any or all of the festivities associated with your wedding. It’s utter bliss. The surf pounds harder and the white sand is gently washed away, leaving behind a stone beach. Occasionally we are blessed with a winter that gives us enough snow to snowshoe and ski on the Golf Course.

We have towels available from the indoor pool deck. However, they are not beach towels – you may want to bring one from home for your stay. We have loungers on the pool decks and out around the property on the lawns, but due to the changing tide levels we are not able to have them on the beach itself.

The temperatures in June and July are generally between 8-12 ℃ (46-55 ℉), and in August and September between 12-18 ℃ (55-64℉). If you wish to swim for a long period of time, we would recommend the freshwater lake on our property or the indoor or outdoor pool.

You can purchase souvenirs, clothing, and books from a collection of more than 65 artists at our resort Gift Shop. The towns and villages along the South Shore are known for their quaint streets lined with boutiques and cafés. The nearby town of Liverpool is home to a good variety of shopping options. The Front Desk would be happy to point you in the right direction!

Dramatically! Our full sand beach gives way to an incredible cobblestone beach in the winter months. An incredible 4 – 5 feet of sand washes in and out with the changing of the seasons.

Wild bunnies seem to have always lived in and around White Point and many years ago, a few domestic bunnies escaped to join their wild cousins. While they have sufficient food sources here at the beach (they love clover, rose hips, and hostas), we have always encouraged our guests to feed them, giving the bunnies a good reason to stick around. Bags of complimentary bunny food are always available at the front desk.

All our accommodations and resort activities are stretched out across our property. Check the resort map to see where everything is!

It sure is! White Point offers an abundance of recreational activities for each of the four seasons. Our beach is a great place to be in the middle of the summer, but sitting by the fireplace with a hot drink in hand is a great place to be on a snowy winter’s day as well.
