It’s doubly delicious as Lobster Crawl in 2020 has grown to include the entire month of February. Chart your course to the South Shore of Nova Scotia, our backyard – to the ports of Barrington – the Lobster Capital of Canada – and along the shore to Peggy’s Cove!
We’re putting the ‘bands’ on a great line-up of events you’ll have a ‘shell’ of a time with! Here are a few highlights:
EVERY DAY in February at White Point:
Sink your claws into our Lobster Lovers Menu! Our breakfast feature is a lobster frittata, for lunch, a delicious twist on a Nova Scotia Lobster Roll and for dinner, a must try lobster linguine- ALL MONTH LONG!
Sunday, Feb 2nd: When Ground Hog Day AND Lobsters Collide!
8 am Lucy the Lobster will crawl out of the ocean in search of her shadow for the 3rd year in Barrington, THE Lobster Capital of Canada!
1:30 – 4:30 pm 3rd Annual Lobster ‘Roll-off’ at White Point
1:30 pm: Lobster 101 with the Kilted Chef!
Gather round as Alain Bosse – the Kilted Chef – one of the greatest champions for our crustaceans hits the stage to crack open the book on lobster! Chatting all things lobster – learn facts and trivia, cooking tips and tricks and even some sampling!
3 pm: Nova Scotia Lobster ‘Roll’ Off at White Point – Hosted by South Shore Tourism Co-operative in partnership with White Point Beach Resort
With more than 12 Restaurants up and down the South Shore offering Lobster Rolls throughout our Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl – whose is the BEST? Come find out!
Which South Shore Restaurant will be named ‘Best Lobster Roll 2020’? Capt Kat’s (2018 Winner) and 27 South from Best Western Bridgewater (2019 Winner) will both be back on a quest for the title … so will their competitors! Cast your own ballot for the People’s Choice Award.
Feb 7 – 10: Great Canadian Lobster Fishing Getaway
Go Lobster Fishing – catch your own lobster and have it for Dinner!

Feb 8 – 13: Lobster Art Show, 9:30 AM to 5 PM
Cathie has curated a collection of lobster-inspired art by our Artists of White Point. Explore unique creations and find something perfect for your home, Valentine’s Day gifts, upcoming weddings, birthday and more! Everyone loves the ocean and what an opportunity to buy a piece of Lobster related art!
Feb 13 – 15: Valentine’s Day Getaway… roses are red, lobsters are too – make it a LOV’ster getaway!

Feb 14 – 17: Lobster-palooza Weekend
Hey Nova Scotia, it’s a long weekend – bring your family to the beach to celebrate Heritage Day Weekend with us. In honour of Lobster Crawl, the schedule of events will be themed, of course, around our Lobster Fishing Heritage.
Feb 15: Surf’s UP: Try Lobster Season Surfing!

Lobsters Gone Wild! February 16, 4 – 5 pm
Dive beneath the sea off Nova Scotia with diver and videographer Jim Walker! See Mathew Atlantic looks like 20 years after it was sunk to create an artificial reef. Jim and his team dove the scuttled wreck this past August and are ready to answer questions on “What’s down there?” Explore the seafloor, home to the crustaceans and their critter friends through musically themed videos such as ‘Fear the Claw’ and ‘Lobster Hug’ Jim Walker has been diving in Lobster Fishing Areas #33 and #34 capturing live footage that’ll bring you claw-to-claw with the lobsters in their natural habitat. Come learn about life as a lobster and through tales of close encounters with claws and more with Jim and his videos created for Lobsters Gone Wild Productions!
ABOUT JIM ….Jim Walker is the Creative Director and Lead Camera Man at Lobsters Gone Wild Productions. With 25 years diving experience as a Dive Instructor, Commercial Diver and Professional Videographer, Jim has explored Canada’s west coast, great lakes, caves of north Florida, Bahama’s, Koh Tao and finally settled in the scenic waters of Nova Scotia.
Feb 16: 5km Lobster Crawl – from the beach, around the golf course and back!
It’s our 2nd annual Lobster ‘Crawl’ – gathering at the bonfire for 10:30 am, at 11 am we’ll head out on the 5km crawl up to the Golf Course, around the 9 holes and back for treats and takeaways! Proudly presented in partnership with the Region of Queens Municipality and Members of our White Point Golf Course, this event is FREE for everyone – we just want you out and crawling along the coastline with us!

Feb 22: 12th Annual On the Rocks 2-night Getaway Package – *SOLD OUT*
It’s a delightful sipping and savouring evening at the beach, featuring more than 75 varieties of wine, beer and spirits from Nova Scotia and around the world – paired with creations by our Chef. Proceeds from our 2020 event will support the youth participating in the 75th Annual Queens County Music Festival at the Astor Theatre in May. The 2-night getaway includes overnight stays, dinner, tickets to On the Rocks, breakfasts and more.
