It’s doubly delicious as Lobster Crawl in 2020 has grown to include the entire month of February. Chart your course to the South Shore of Nova Scotia, our backyard – to the ports of Barrington – the Lobster Capital of Canada – and along the shore to Peggy’s Cove!
We’re putting the ‘bands’ on a great line-up of events you’ll have a ‘shell’ of a time with! Here’s a few highlights:
EVERYDAY in February at White Point:
Sink your claws into Chef Alan’s Lobster Lovers Menu! Lobster features for Breakfast, signature ‘Lobster Roll’ served on our Lunch menu AND a Lobster Dish for Dinner – ALL MONTH LONG!
Saturday Feb 1st: Lobster Lovers Feast!
Join us for a good ole fashioned lobster boil with all the traditional taste of Nova Scotia Trimmings! Compete with bibs, our souvenir Sou’Wester, sea shanties, and even a few surprises ….

Sunday Feb 2nd: When Ground Hog Day AND Lobsters Collide!
8am Lucy the Lobster will crawl out of the ocean in search of her shadow for the 3rd year in Barrington, THE Lobster Capital of Canada!
1:30 – 4:30pm 3rd Annual Lobster ‘Roll-off’ at White Point
1:30pm: Lobster 101 with the Kilted Chef!
Gather round as Alain Bosse – the Kilted Chef – one of the greatest champions for our crustaceans hits the stage to crack open the book on lobster! Chatting all things lobster – learn facts and trivia, cooking tips and tricks and even some sampling!
3pm: Nova Scotia Lobster ‘Roll’ Off at White Point
With more than 12 Restaurants up and down the South Shore offering Lobster Rolls throughout our Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl – whose is the BEST? Come find out!
Which South Shore Restaurant will be named ‘Best Lobster Roll 2020’? Capt Kat’s (2018 Winner) and 27 South from Best Western Bridgewater (2019 Winner) will both be back on a quest for the title … so will their competitors! Get ready to ‘taste’ their creations and cast your own ballot for the People’s Choice Award!
PLUS there’ll be tickets available for SAMPLING Lobster Rolls!
Feb 7 – 10: Great Canadian Lobster Fishing Getaway
Go Lobster Fishing – catch your own lobster and have it for Dinner!
Make it a weekend to really sink your claws into our lobster fishery. 2 night package includes accommodations, meals, lobster fishing AND lobster boil!
February 7 – 14: Lobs’ART Show : Oh BUOY!
Inspired and incorporating ‘found’ fishing objects, this one of a kind art show invites you to explore the beauty of the ‘dis-guarded or lost’ and found along the shorelines of Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Curated by Cathie, our Gift Gallery Manager, you can expect to ‘SEA’ original works of art created just for this show by dozens of artists.
Show Opening: 2pm Saturday Feb. 8

Feb 13 – 15: Valentine’s Day Getaway… roses are red, lobsters are too – make it a LOV’ster getaway!
Bring your sweetheart for a 2 night getaway complete with chocolates, sparkling wine, and more.

Feb 14 – 17: Lobster-palooza Weekend
Hey Nova Scotia, it’s a long weekend – bring your family to the beach to celebrate Heritage Day Weekend with us. In honour of Lobster Crawl, the schedule of events will be themed, of course, around our Lobster Fishing Heritage.
Feb 15: Surf’s UP: Try Lobster Season Surfing!
Give Winter Surfing a try to feel what it must be like to BE a Lobster in the Atlantic Ocean in the highlight of the season! See details and register now.
Feb 16: 5km Lobster Crawl – from the beach, around the golf course and back!
It’s our 2nd annual Lobster ‘Crawl’ – gathering at the bonfire for 10:30am, at 11am we’ll head out on the 5km crawl up to the Golf Course, around the 9 holes and back for treats and take-aways! Proudly presented in partnership with the Region of Queens Municipality and Members of our White Point Golf Course, this event is FREE for everyone – we just want you out and crawling along the coastline with us!
Registration opens December 1/19 for the Feb 16th/20 crawl.
Feb 22: 12th Annual On the Rocks Getaway
It’s a delightful sipping and savouring evening at the beach, featuring more than 75 varieties of wine, beer and spirits from Nova Scotia and around the world – paired with creations by Chef Alan Crosby. Proceeds from our 2020 event will support the youth participating in the 75th Annual Queens County Music Festival at the Astor Theatre in May. 2 night getaway includes overnight stays, dinner, tickets to On the Rocks, breakfasts and more.

Feb 23: Brush with Good Cheer
3pm – 5pm, Main Lodge, White Point Beach Resort
Give your hand a try at painting with the dynamic team from Maritime Painted Saltbox. Tom Alway and Peter Blais invite you to join them as they guide you though painting a work of Lobs’ART that you’ll treasure for years to come! To keep you energized there’ll be lobster-infused munchies and a special ‘Wines of Nova Scotia’.

Feb 29: Climb aboard and go Lobster Fishing! (TBC)
9am – 11am
Join Captain Brad Crouse for a 2 hour adventure out to sea, checking lobster traps and bringing in their catch.
The J.K.C. is a 37ft working lobster fishing boat that calls West Berlin home. Join Capt. Crouse and his crew to ‘sample’ what it’s like to Lobster Fish in the winter months.
Space is limited to 6 passengers.
Cost: when paired with overnight stay at White Point $50/person.
Should space permit, non-overnight guests $65 per person.
LEAP Year Weekend means we get to enjoy an EXTRA day of Lobster and Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl! Leap… or crawl on over and sink your claws into the last weekend of all the fun!
