Beaches
Nowhere
else in North America will you find such a selection of spectacular,
unspoiled, uncrowded beaches as the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
In addition to our own incomparable kilometre long private beach,
you might want to visit some of these other beaches in the area
just to proof to yourself that we aren't exaggerating.
Beach Meadows Municipal Beach is located approximately 15 kilometres
from White Point. This is a white-sand beach with a spectacular
view of Coffin Island. Beach Meadows also has a playground, picnic
area, change rooms, washroom facilities and is wheelchair accessible.
Carter's Beach is actually made up of three half-moon shaped
beaches. This beach has white-sand, clear blue water and is surrounded
by islands and sand dunes. There are no facilities available.
Hunts Point Beach is just a five minute drive from White Point.
This white-sand beach has a view of several islands and is close
to a working wharf where local fishermen dock their vessels year
round.
Summerville Beach Provincial Park offers visitors yet another
beautiful white-sand beach a short drive from White Point Beach
Resort. This beach is great for swimming, sunbathing or a leisurely
walk. There is a picnic park, washrooms and a changing facility.
Crescent Beach, Lockeport This crescent-shaped beach is well worth the 40- minute drive from the resort. Facilities include an interpretive centre with look-off, snack bar, washrooms/change rooms and a gift shop well stocked with handmade crafts all made by the people of Lockeport and surrounding communities.
