White Point open year round?
Yes, White Point is open all year round and offers an abundance of recreational activities for each of the four seasons. Our beach is a great place to be in the middle of the summer, but sitting by one of the big, stone fireplaces with a hot drink in hand is a great place to be on a snowy winter’s day as well!
Where did the bunnies come from?
Many years ago, bunnies began roaming the resort property. White Point staff and guests began feeding them and this gave those bunnies a good reason to stick around. Today, the bunnies are a permanent fixture of the resort grounds. Bags of complimentary bunny food are always available at the front desk.
Are the ocean front cottages open in the winter?
Yes, our oceanfront cottages are open in the winter and are fully winterized.
What amenities are available in accommodations?
Colour cable television, DVD player, mini fridge, alarm clock, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, soaps. Most cottages have either a separate living room or living area and fireplaces or woodstoves. All have phone with complimentary WI-FI access. White Point Vacation Club units have full kitchen and dining facilities as well as a washer and dryer.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, indeed we do! White Point allows small animals in all accommodations with the exception of the Main Lodge, Ocean Lodge & Tidewatch. While outside, all pets must be on a leash and we ask that you please clean up after them. Please do inform us if you will be bringing your pet upon making your reservation.
Do you have on-site laundry facilities?
Yes, there are laundry facilities located on property in the Guest Laundry which is open year-round. Laundry detergent is available at the Front Desk. White Point Vacation Club units have their own washers and dryers.
What is there to do for kids?
You name it and we've got it in the plans… White Point is a kid's paradise. We have a full summer recreation schedule (at other times of the year, the recreation schedule is organized on weekends) that offers arts & crafts, games, stories, overnight camping, face painting, movies, story time, bonfires on the beach and so much more. This schedule runs everyday during the summer months and during March Break and on weekends throughout the rest of the year. There are also indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a games room (arcade games, billiards, shuffleboard) beach volleyball, tennis courts, a boathouse which houses kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, surfboards and bicycle rentals. Do all of your cottages have fireplaces?
All cottage accommodations have either a fireplace or a woodstove - wood for your stoves is provided complimentary with your stay.
Do you have any accommodations with kitchenettes?
Yes, White Point Vacation Club Cottages and Vacation Rentals have full kitchens, equipped with everything from forks and knives to dishcloths and placemats.
Is there entertainment at White Point?
Yes, White Point has live entertainment every weekend throughout the year and every evening during the summer months in our cozy Founder's Lounge.
What facilities are included in my room rate?
The majority of facilities are included in your room rate. There are fees for golf, spa treatments, kayaks, bicycles, and surf equipment and lessons. Meals are not included, but we offer several excellent meal plan options.
What is your cancellation policy?
You have 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date to cancel your reservation. A $5.00 processing fee is applied while the remainder of your deposit is refundable. However, if you cancel with less than 72 hours, you will be charged for the full room rate.
Is there anywhere to shop in area?
There is a gift shop at the resort that houses a vast array of souvenirs, clothing and books. The towns and villages along the South Shore in general are known for their quaint streets lined with boutiques and cafés. Nearby is Liverpool which has a good variety of options. The Front Desk would be happy to point you in the right direction.
Does White Point have non-smoking rooms?
Yes, all of the accommodations at White Point are smoke-free.
Does White Point have wheelchair accessible rooms?
Yes, White Point has wheelchair accessible rooms. If you require one of these rooms, please make your request when booking your reservation.
Accommodations
Do you have a honeymoon suite?
There are several accommodations at White Point that our guests call honeymoon suites. The most popular location for romance is a one bedroom oceanfront cottage with fireplace, whirlpool bath and a 4-poster bed.
What is the ocean water temperature in the summer months?
The temperature of the ocean water varies during the summer months. Most often the temperatures in June and July are between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius and in August and September between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius (check here for conversions). If you wish to swim for a long period of time, we would recommend the freshwater lake on our property or the indoor or outdoor pool.
What is it like in the winter?
This is a favourite time of the year - the surf pounds harder, the white sand is gently washed away off shore leaving behind a beachstone beach (the sand begins returning in the Spring reaching a full white sand beach again in August ). With the coastal breezes, keeping the 2 - 3 inches of snow we tend to get is difficult, and well the Lake, it never freezes over enough to skate on. Occassionally we are blessed with a winter that gives us enough snow to snowshoe and ski on the Golf Course, but that is always a difficult one to plan for.
Do I need an adapter for the power outlets?
White Point has 110 wattage, which means unless you live within North America you will not require an adapter. If you are from outside North America, you may need an adapter for electrical devices such as a razor.
How long does it take to drive to White Point from...

I have food allergies. Is this a problem?
Food allergies are not a problem at White Point. When you are ordering food, please inform your waiter and arrangements will be made to accommodate your needs. If there are very specialized ingredients you require, please contact the dining room before your visit.
Is the lake fresh water?
Yes, Dogget's Beach Pond is a fresh water lake.
Does the Beach Pond have fish?
Dogget's Beach Pond has small fish (minnows), but no fish for angling.
How many people work at White Point?
There are approximately 160 people that work at White Point.
Do you have beach towels?
We have towel available from the pool deck, however they are really just that, pool towels, we recommend that you bring a beach towel for heading to the beach.
